French Descriptive Adjectives Exercise #10 - Ajoutez un adjectif qualificatif
This is a one page worksheet with ten sentences in which students fill in the blanks with descriptive adjectives while making agreement when necessary. No answer key is provided as different students will most certainly choose from a variety of adjectives to fill in the blanks.
This worksheet is part of a BUNDLE that includes ten worksheets and a BONUS adjective reference booklet with 185 common adjectives written in the masculine and feminine forms as well as the English translation. A video is included in the bundle (to show you how to finish folding and attaching the booklet).
La Famille - French 20 questions game - No prep speaking activity
The game of 20 questions is a fun and effective way to practice forming French questions. This version of the game focuses on 52 nouns and verbs which are all about the family / la famille.
This game work for any level as it is written in French and English. Want a real challenge for your upper levels or immersion students? Use the French only version!
Included:
1 version with vocabulary written in French and English
1 version with vocabulary written in French only
Have students work in small groups of 2-4 or project the game and use it as a whole class activity.
This game includes 52 words. Many of the words may be new to your students as this game is meant not only to practice forming questions, but also to build vocabulary. I like to allow my students to look at the game chart while they play until they’re somewhat familiar with the words. After they’ve played the games a few times looking at the French-English version they feel more prepared to move on to the French only version.
One student in the small group or class chooses a word on the chart. Other students ask up to 20 questions trying to guess the secret word.
The student who has chosen the secret word can answer using the following responses: OUI - NON - PARFOIS - RAREMENT - GÉNÉRALEMENT - PEUT-ÊTRE - CELA DÉPEND - PROBABLEMENT
Alternative game play:
To change up the game and to make it more challenging as well as practicing other skills, have the student who chooses the secret word describe it to others in the group. Instead of asking questions about the secret word, other students listen to the description and guess it.
Advanced French Skit - Au Restaurant - Les bons amis
This is a one page French skit for your students to have fun acting out in class in pairs (the skit has two characters). The title of this skit is Les bons amis. This resource is great for advanced students in a traditional setting or for secondary immersion. The level of grammar and vocabulary is quite high and challenging. This skit is a fun way to keep high level French fun and interesting.
I can’t show you a sample since this is only a one page resource, but here is an excerpt from the skit to give you an idea:
*François: Félicitations Stéphane, je suis content pour toi. Bon, moi je vais me commander une salade repas végétarienne. Tu vas prendre quoi toi?
Stéphane: Je vais me dévorer la côte de bœuf, 750 grammes, une merveille qui ira parfaitement avec ce Margaux. Tu vas manger de l’herbe toi? Ne me dis pas que tu es végétarien ou végan quand même!*
